Any advise for the 69 GMC eyebrow trim

I'm putting the 69 back together with fresh paint, everything went surprisingly smooth (hood, fenders, Doors, etc.) until I got to the eyebrow trim. I had to buy aftermarket trim peices and they either line up perfect with the grill and have huge gaps around the fender or line up with the fender nicely but are way out of whack with the grill. Is there a trick to getting these things to fit, they look the same as the old ones and the old ones don't want to line up either. Any advise would be appreciated.

Re: Any advise for the 69 GMC eyebrow trim

I recall having the same headache. I messed with it for a couple of days. And to get anywhere close required some bending/ destorting of those clamp type brackets till I finally give up. Ended up not perfect but as close as I could get it. Overall it was a pain to mess with but don't look too bad, unless you really study it hard. Those clamps are tuff don't be scared to remove them and tap them to where you think they need to be.

Re: Any advise for the 69 GMC eyebrow trim

My son got his eybrows to line up on his 69 GMC by using the original clips and doing some fitting.
