Tranny and transfer case identification?

I have a 1967 Chevy k20 stepside with what I believe to be the original transmission and transfer case but I don't know what either of them are. The transmition is a four speed, first gear does not seem to be synchronized and reverse is left and down. The transfer case is an all time for wheel drive. I think it's a np 203 of 204. Any help with this would be great, thanks.

Stock would be the SM-420 and a Rockwell T221 transfer case. If it's a full time 4wd t-case that would most likely be a newer NP-203. Pics would help greatly.

Re: Tranny and transfer case identification?

Sounds like it has an sm420 and a rockwell. It probably just doesn't have lockout hubs on the front. The shift pattern for the rockwell i think is 4hi towards the dash, then 2hi, nuetral, and 4lo all the way back towards the seat. The np203 wasn't available yet in 67.

Re: Tranny and transfer case identification?

Well.. I feel kinda dumb but the jute matting and sound dettenor was restricting the transfer case from going all the way forward. I looked up rockwells and it looks like them. But the transmission does sound like a sm420? Thanks a ton for the help
