Computers. Well, gaming computers. Just from that, I get to be "Mr. Computer guy" at work. I can answer a lot of stuff, like "How do I get Redneck Rampage to work in Windows 10" and even some other stuff, but not everything.

Still learning about networking stuff- but getting the idea just from questions,

That said, a screenie from Skyrim, one of my favorite games!.

Fierro wheels, cool. Almost looks like you would have had to drop the body onto the engine...

Re: What is Your Other Hobby?

I had bead-rolled the Pontiac symbol over the gas tank cover. I was showing it off when the picture was taken.

Them are Firebird wheels, but they do look the same as Fiero wheels.

2x3 tube frame, full roll cage, entire drivetrain out of an '88 Firebird, including the TBI wiring harness mated with the Suzuki wiring. Narrowed 7.5" axle, S10 spindles, fabricated freaking everything.

I'm all-in at about $2500 US at this point. Likely up for sale this fall or spring to finance the '61 Apache build.

The entire build is documented here:

Re: What is Your Other Hobby?

Because I'm really old, I also sponsor a couple of up and coming NASCAR racers, providing their DJ Safety safety equipment and driver suits. Since I wasn't fortunate enough to have kids myself, here's kind of a proud parent moment. Both have Cup level driving skills and wrench on their own race cars. Shantel on the left, and Nicole on the right. Shantel captured the Sportsman feature win last night at the Wyant Group Raceway season opener, and I'm helping with her debut in the Pinty's NASCAR Series this year.

Re: What is Your Other Hobby?

Love those 125cc dirt bikes. Boy did those pictures bring back memories. I rode and raced dirt bikes through the 70's and 80's. Now if you had one of the 125 Honda Elsinore, I really would be envious. When the Elsinore was first produced I rode one for area Honda dealers in Motocross, road Yamaha's in Enduro and Hare Scramblers. Ranked 3rd in 200 cc class and top 20 Overall in Southeast circuit. Now I just read the magazines and watch on TV.

Currently other than my 63 C10, I am into whatever the grandchildren are doing but they are growing up way too fast. Other than that, I like to dabble in the stock market. The market Highs support the truck, the Low's put projects on hold. Life is so Good.

Re: What is Your Other Hobby?

I used to be heavily into online gaming. I built, maintained and ran several gaming servers for a few years. I also helped to develop some of the first online anti-cheat software for gaming servers (mostly Unreal Tournament 1999 and Battlefield 1942 Desert Combat Mod) Now I just visit on occasion.

I recently took up leather working. So far I've made a couple of knife sheaths, some holsters for my SAA .45 colt. I'm currently working on "rifle holsters" for both my LA Winchester and my coach shotgun.

And I'm also looking into the possibility of getting into cowboy action shooting. Assuming I can find a local group and if my back can stand up to the exercise. (I broke my back about 20 years ago and have difficulty standing for any length of time). Hopefully I can find a local group that will let me "visit" for an outing and see if I will be able to participate.

Re: What is Your Other Hobby?

I collect British rifles with an emphasis on WW 1 and WW 2 rifles. Several of the ones I own were rifles that had been cut down into sporters and I restored them to military configuration. The biggest labor of love has been my 1906 BSA/Sparkbrook Mk I*** rifle that has taken years to restore and is close to being done.

Re: What is Your Other Hobby?

Wood carving, wood working, a little copper smithing.

First is a Wood Spirit in the form of a grape leaf.
Second is the tool chest I made from white oak to hold most of my carving tools.

Third is a copper rose in a copper vase I made for my wife for xmas about 7 years ago. Haven't done much copper work lately, been too busy working down the honey-dos left over from before I retired.

I also shoot Expert with my .22 rifle. That's in the high 180's out of 200. Working up to Distinguished Expert once I burn up all those hollow points. They don't fly all that straight.

So cool. When my grandfather died, I got his WWII (1944) Lee-Enfield No 4. MK1 .303 Rifle. He was in a joint operation with the British in Korea (1950) and was issued this rifle. When he was discharged in 1952 (medical discharge with purple heart) he was allowed to keep the rifle (or so I've always been told). I take it to the range a few times a year and typically embarrass a few of the guys with brand new rifles at 500+ yards. It has the mark 3 military sight on it and I go in and start head shoting silhouettes at 500 yards with my open military sights and they are lucky to hit paper with all their fancy high powered scopes. The only problem is this thing kicks like a mule. I aways come back with a bruised and sore shoulder. LOL
