66 radio dash repair advice please

Im pretty sure a PO had a radio that didnt fit and did this, but I havent yet decided on the radio for my truck and have the interior primed at this point and didnt want to bend back the folded over areas before asking. Should I fold it back over and hope that its the dimension it needs to be? Or is there a standard dimension to measure for the opening?

Also, Im looking to go as stock looking as possible with newer tech like bluetooth. If anyone has any advice on the radio options they like please leave a reply in this other thread I have going. Thanks.

Re: 66 radio dash repair advice please

Here is what the dimensions should be. This is the unmolested radio hole in my truck. Never had a radio in it. This might have been the first time this plate was taken off in it's 52 year life.

I you have more problems. There is a patch panel for this area. You don't have to use the whole thing so just cut out the part you need, if any is needed of course.
