NV4500/NP205 AA kit t-case shift bracket done different

I have a '94 NV and a 10 spline 205 going into a '77 K5 with a roller cam 355. I ordered the adapter kit from AA, but didn't like the AA shift linkage bracket for a couple reasons.

I wasn't excited about this. I can't remember, but there was something weird with shift linkage alignment. Mostly I didn't want the shifter boots to overlap.

So I got this from AA (PN#920001)

...and modified it to do this: After this pic was taken I replaced the Clevis pin in the t-case end of the heim joint with a 3/8 bolt. Also located it under the shift bracket for better alignment and easier access to the zerk.

I'll post more pics later when it's finished. Anyone see anything wrong with this set up?

I would put a jamb nut on the heim joint to clevis connection. Other than that, looks like it should work good.

Very excited to see this; this is the first 67-72 truck I've seen with the NV4500 conversion. Are you happy with the new shifter location? Are you using a stock GM shift lever or the AA shift lever? Are you using a driver side slave cylinder for your clutch, or did you go with an mechanical clutch linkage?

There are several 67-72's on here with the NV conversion. Mine's a '77 K5. I'm using the shifter that came in the AA kit listed above. I do like the placement of everything so far. So far I'm planning on using the mechanical clutch linkage. Kinda working on that now, going to do a modified stock set up with heim joints.

Interesting. I've gathered the parts to do a similar swap in my 72 with the addition of a planetary range box. A PO swapped the 205 for a 208 for the lower low. I have a number of shifters and figure I'll need to fab a bracket and linkage.
