Sound Mat Application

When installing Fat Mat to the back of the cab do I install in one piece or many pieces? I tried looking at other people's install in the forum but it's hard to see.
I finally got my Bucket seats from a site on-line that I ordered Sep. 15. FedEx lost the mount frame and the passenger seat (for 3 weeks)and I got them yesterday.
They look AWESOME I just hope they feel as good as they look....

Also - on the fatmat - you can do many pieces. I try to butt them up to each other but I don't believe its super important. I believe the concept is that the sound deadening just adds mass to the sheet metal to absorb vibrations (sound) that travels through it.

I had my seats and console done like this to match my head-liner. Black & Garnet Vinyl. As you can see by one of our spare bedrooms I have the whole interior gutted, I hope it turns out half as good as the ones I see in the Forum.

This is correct. The objective with sound deadner is to make the panel acoustically dead. Personally I prefer to everything, but realistically you can use strips to kill the noise transfer.

While sound deadner offers minimal thermal resistance, its still enough that I want it everywhere.

I also used fatmat .I butted the ends together and covered the entire area .
Once the whole floor, doors and roof were covered I was surprised how much it had reduced the noise in the cab

When I did mine, it was in pieces. It would be pretty hard to do with one piece. That stuff sticks like super glue, even when it barely touches the surface. Here's mine, and then I put a new rear tray in, to cover it all up.

BTW, those seats are pretty sweet!!

Did you use the same insulation that was under your seat or are those 3 pieces new? Mine fell apart when I tried to pull it up to paint my floor.
Also where did you get the cloth to cover everything?

I just purchased membrane from restomodair. It’s supposed to be a thermal barrier too. Where did you get the rear tray?

I didn't pay over $120. I believe I payed $75.

Yes I used the original pieces. Mine weren't stuck to the floor real bad, so they came up pretty easily.

The cloth is just speaker/amp box carpeting. I ordered it online from somewhere, can't remember where though. It was a place the specializes in stereo/sound. It's a lot thicker than most, so it was really nice to work with. I fiqured it would help with the durability of the rear tray.
