Staying busy...retired
Well we had sun shine today for the first time in a week. So I got out and cleaned up some golf cart seats.
Has anybody ever had a boat, golf cart anything with vinyl seats that you wanted to clean up but just didn't think they would? Here is a few tips I have learned since working on golf carts. The seats are a ***** to keep clean if they sit outside neglected for a long time but there is hope. It just takes some work and the right stuff to clean with. Having the right stuff is key though, as in cleaner's and scrubbers. I for got to take a picture of the first one but it was just as bad as the other 2. I started with just soap and water with a brush to remove the over all dirt. Then I spray vinyl cleaner over the seat and use a magic eraser and a steel wool sponge. I then wipe it down good with vinyl conditioner and they look almost new again depending on how bad they where when I started. I spent about 1 hr on these three seats today and man they look great. I even got the installed on the cart but that was another couple of hours.

Yeah it's amazing how nasty those vinyl seats can get on a cart sitting out in the wide open all the time. I have an ezgo at work and I just recovered the seat last week.

That's nasty. How long did it take for them to get that way? 1 year? 5?

Jesse I have no idea I bought them that way cheap taking a chance they would clean up. I figured it they came half way clean they where worth $50.00. They where well worth it. New seats would have been %150.00-$200.00.

Re: Staying busy...retired
Cleaned up nicely, I will say! I had to laugh, when I retired just over 4 years ago, when people asked what I would do without a job. I have so much stuff to do around the house (example- tore down and rebuilt the wall on the front of the property) that I don't get much time to goof off. I do wood working and wood carving, as well. Spending too much time surfing the net, though; I've had to cut down on that.

Re: Staying busy...retired
Congrats sir! I was on fire brigade at work for 8 years. Lucky for me we never had a big fire. We had to be ERO and CPR as well as hazmat qualified.
