Looks good dude. Hope to see your truck in person at some point. I'll be bringing mine to Battle at the Bridge in Lethbridge, AB this summer.

Re: 1953 Chevrolet Truck Aka the money pit

My plans for my truck at that point. I wanted to keep the project as simple and easy as possible, but as I am sure everyone on this site knows how that goes when you think of your truck and how you want it to turn out. Lots of my friends ask me what I will do with it when I am finished. I will keep it of course. I know this project is going to cost me lots and take up lots of my time, I have been waiting and saving for a while all the time going to school and being married and looking after our 1 year old boy. The old truck has taken a back seat for a bit, soon the work will start again.

x2 on the green color. What did you use on the bell housing? Is it paint? I like the finish.

Thanks, I wondered if that was what you did. My friend did something similar and I remember really liking the look. Was the wire brush on the end of a drill or did you do it by hand?

Thanks
Marc

I did it with a drill, I really like the look too.

I have some more pictures of my build, I have been doing all my own powder coating. From an oven I found for free on a classified site.

Kid, i like your project lot. You're doing great work.

I have questions about the home powder coating. What's the purpose of the plywood box on top of the oven? What's the little black box for? Last, whose powder coating products are you using?

The green color, by any chance is that an old Pontiac color?

I love the contrast of the white suspension pieces. I considered doing something similar. The progress looks great.

Re: 1953 Chevrolet Truck Aka the money pit

rattle can high heat enamel by Duplicolor Detroit Diesel Green. the canopy is just to keep the powder from travelling everywhere I also use a home depot wet dry vac with a cloth on the inside to collect the extra powder (it gets everywhere). I use Eastwood powder but there is also a powder coat manufacturer here in Calgary that specializes in coatings.
