K10 stock suspension measurement?

Trying to figure out what lift is on my '70 K10. Anyone have the measurement from top of spring to bottom of frame front and back please?

Re: K10 stock suspension measurement?

This probably won't help because my K1500 is not at stock height. Front is 8 3/4" and rear is 10 1/4". In front I measured from top of spring right in front of the mounting plate to the bottom of frame. My truck has a Tuff Country 2" spring lift that to me looks more like a 4" lift. Tires are 32x11.50 Cooper Discoverer, that are 30.4" in actual measured height.

There are no blocks on the rear, truck is lifted by only leaf springs front and rear.

Rear 6 1/2" top of springplate to bottom of frame, at least on mine.

I have a 4 inch lift on my 72 K10. I can take some measurements tonight and let you know what I have.

Re: K10 stock suspension measurement?

Another measurement that may not help, but hey, every scrap of info just might add up to something useful.

My K20 has 2.5" Softrides up front. Measuring from top of spring right in front of the mounting plate to the bottom of frame, the passenger's side is 7 5/8" and the driver's side is 7 3/4".

My rear springs are kind of a mishmash so I didn't bother to check (stock springs + AALs + Hellwig overloads).

Re: K10 stock suspension measurement?

Mine is 8" on the front and 9-3/4" on the back. Back springs are good but I need to get new fronts and want to keep the same stance. Still not sure what to get?

Well, I finally got around to it.

One thing to consider, measuring from the top of the spring plate or spring pack to the frame would vary with the thickness of the spring pack, and spring pack thicknesses WILL vary between manufacturers and vary with the height of the lift. For example, the factory spring pack, a 2 inch lift spring pack, and a 4 inch lift spring pack may all measure different thicknesses.

So I measured from top of axle tube to bottom of frame and this is what I have:

Front 13.25” +/-
Rear 12.5” +/-

This is a 1972 K10

Tuff Country 4 inch lift

Tires are 35 x 12.50

Wheels are 15 x 8
