Re: Project...praise the lowered

got the top side of the floor pretty much finished up.so i cut away the braces and stilts and moved on to the dash.i started by taking the sierra off the road.it was my daily driver and served me well.the strip down began.almost feels wrong parting out a perfectly good truck.but thats hotrodding .after tearing out most of the dash i headed over to work on the 67.i managed to mock up the new gauges and to my surprise it wasnt that bad.next will be removing the newer steering shaft and fitting it to the 67.so far so good

and the nephew came over to try the seats

Man you got skill!!!!!! Awesome looking build bud. I just subscribed so I can follow your journey. I know nothing about welding. But I am fascinated how you take raw metal and make it what you want. Thanks for all the pics and keep them coming!!!!!!

Re: Project...praise the lowered

got a little more done this weekend.yesterday i scored a e-brake assembly new for 10 bucks and stripped more off the sierra including the interior wiring harness.time to sort the good from the junk.today i welded in around the gauges, filled the slots that fit under the dash pad,cut a hole for the steering column and mocked it up.to my surprise its fitting pretty damn good with very little hacking and slashing.like it was meant to be.

Re: Project...praise the lowered

To be honest I have never liked it when the dash is cut out and a new cluster installed but your truck in making me rethink all that. I like the old cluster but the stock gauges have never been much for accuracy. Great work on what is looking like a killer truck.
