Wheel Color

Hey guys,

I finally got me a set of steel wheels. They had good enough tires on them to give me an idea of whether I wanted wider whites or skinnier, but I'm trying to decide which color to go with before I get my new tires mounted up. I kind of like the white, since it would match the front of the truck. But, I think I will paint them a rust color first and then bright white over that color and scuff them up to look a little rusty. Really, the way they are now is perfect, but all four do not match. What are your guys' thoughts on color? A buddy told me I should do teal since the tail gate has some teal in the patina, but I'm not digging that since the rest of the truck doesn't have any teal in it.

Re: Wheel Color

Definetly rust with white on top. Where did you find your hub caps?

So pretty much like they are now? I got them off of Ebay. They are from a Biscayne. I have a different set coming that should be here in the next few days, so depending on which I like better - these might be for sale.

Re: Wheel Color

You buddy is right about the teal. I think is should be a darker teal though. I have this color truck and will probably paint my wheels the way they are on this shirt. https://shop.spreadshirt.com/284078/...tee-A106714137

Re: Wheel Color

Hubaps are defined by inner diameter,. Therfore yours must be 10 3/16".
What is the paint code on your trim plate?

Re: Wheel Color

What about shining up the caps and painting the wheels gloss black. The white wall will stand out and compliment the front end.

You are probably right, sir. I got another set in as well to see which ones I liked the best. I am not really sure what paint code is on it. I'm such a noob with these trucks...but where would I find that?

Yeah, it's either going to be white or black. No other real colors to go with the color of the truck, now.
