fuel injection for a 1967 with a 283 or 327?

My friend has a 67 with a small block- either a 283 or 327. Any recommendations on converting this to fuel injected? If so, what kits/ where to get them? What is involved- other than replacing the carburetor? Is there a separate wiring harness? I'm thinking of doing this on my 1969 and 1970 trucks that both have a 350. Thanks, Scott

There are multiple conversion bolt up kits out there, which all of them require wiring as it is all electronic. F.A.S.T. is the one I have chosen Holley has a couple kits and many on here have also used fitech, msd also has one now

We had nothing but trouble with F.A.S.T. in installing their computer on a tpi system (FAST's EZ-EFI system). We visited a large car show and was told by several exhibitors that they had problems with the F.A.S.T. tbi system as well. Some used the tpi computer and had the same problems we did. Customer support is totally worthless. They do not stand behind their product. Everything is either the fault of George Bush or the Russians.

My advise is to stay away.

I have heard the same stories as TheRocket about F A S T. Heard good stuff about Holley FI and plan to install one on my C10.

The previous owner of my truck installed a FAST ez efi 1.0 system on my truck 5 years ago (1967, crate 350). Although I have run into a couple of issues with fuel delivery, their tech line did help me sort out the problems and both times the issues were not with the efi system, but ignition problems with the truck. I'm not to sure about the other systems but with FAST you need a good clean tach signal and a stable power supply (especially during cranking).
Regardless with what system you go with, you will need to install an inline or in-tank high pressure fuel pump (mine runs at 43 psi) with a return line...although FiTech will sell you a canister so you can run a returnless system. A bung will also need to be welded in the exhaust system for the installation of an O2 sensor. As far as I know, all aftermarket tbi / efi systems come with all necessary wiring and sensors.
YouTube has many videos detailing the installation of most of the popular systems. TFL Truck recently installed a FiTech system in their 1985 K10 and if those bumbling fools can do it, anyone can although they did mount the fuel canister incorrectly. If you search this site there have been some threads detailing the installation and issues that have arose.
One more note about the FAST system, they've recently updated the controller to a LCD touchscreen and it gives you more options and settings to control.
