Smile Subwoofer - behind the seat?

Wanted to post this here to get some ideas from the same year / style AD.

I have 2 - 10" subs (shallow) and 2 amps that I was hoping to squeeze behind the seats. Anyone have their subs set up behind the seats? I have already made my two front kicker panels.

Just looking for ideas.

I used 1- 10" and made an enclosure behind the seats to house 2 - 6.5's as well as the sub. I could have fit another one on the passenger side but I felt one was enough.

I made and enclosure out of MDF then covered it with fleece and added resin and fiberglass then covered the whole thing with vinyl. The roughest part as the compound curve of the back sides of the cab.

One the passenger side I made a pocket for storage.

Updating this old thread to ask Frank, How do ou like that Kenwood unit? I JUST ordered it for my '55. You're 2+ years in with it, are you still happy with it?

This will be the first vehicle I've EVER had a subwoofer in so you no I'm no audiophile. I plan on only having two front speaker with it in the kick panels. Not sure what size. Recommendations for those welcome. - Dan

Re: Subwoofer - behind the seat?

I didn't pay much attention to the thread the last time it went around but that self powered Sub is real interesting. I'd like some feedback on it too.

I have a box similar to what Octane Junkie showed that my son pulled out of one of his rigs and it got put in mine that is ok but not great.

I have had a similar Kicker powered sub behind my seat for a few years. It puts out plenty of sound for the cab of a truck. This is the one I have:http://www.halfpricecaraudio.com/Kic...QaAtfWEALw_wcB
