Yeah-I had to bend mine a little. I've got a '67 so I just thought the hole might have been lower in later years. Check out the electrical forum for lots of stuff on this. Make sure you have the light for the cig lighter on the right spot (it will dim with the dash lights if you've got it hooked up right).

Make sure there is contact between the housing and the metal dash otherwise, it won't complete the circuit. Are you sure you have power to it?

Re: Cigarette lighter

If I understood right..the blue goes to the light for the lighter? Which would be the guages etc so that when you dim the lights, the cig lighter dims also?

Hey no. 1 fan, if it's indeed the wire for the light on the cigarette lighter you can splice it into the gray wire for the heater switch panel and the glove box light if you have one. If you touch it to the wire that goes into the back of the lighter it should light the bulb for the cig. lighter but it won't dim, and you can't tie it in there or it would be on all the time which would drain the battery in a couple of days.

The gray wire for the panel lights comes from the fuse panel at the PNl lts fuse and it feeds all the cluster gauge lights and the heater panel light as well as the glove box light if you have one.
