Thanks Rian, personally I'd like to forget about that crossmember. Better now...

Thanks Johnny, there's a lot of shoddy work being done out there but this is one of the worst I've seen.

I need that... funny it's not even a tuba, it's a euphonium or that guy is 9 foot tall. if you carry a tuba around for a couple of years, you don't forget how big they are.

Don, will your truck be finished this fall? no push, just hoping you and Chad will be showing them at the party. Come for the weekend... big fun. we've got a different salvage yard this year.

Looking really sharp there Clem. What type of sound deadener or floor product is that?

Thanks! The owner is in town today and that has me stoked and nervous at the same time... more on his truck later...

But for now its Maude. Very sad when this happens.
Maude is a 65 that is special to a very nice lady. We did tons of work on floors and doors, rebuilt the engine and got a built 700R, did a completely new chassis and in the middle of test fitting sheet metal... we were informed that the finances had dried up. I've had this happen before and it seldom has a good ending. So, since we don't want our efforts to deteriorate we quickly sprayed some epoxy sealer on the cab and will push her outback with a water proof cover. Who knows what will happen next to Maude???

Pics as she is now...

Re: tuba trucks

Very nice work, Clem... as usual!

I think people underestimate the amount of $$$$ that it takes to do a project 'right'. I tell people to expect to pay the cost of a brand new full size truck with same amount of bells and whistles.

Re: tuba trucks

you're exactly right… but then I say that your old truck will appreciate and not depreciate, that it will be cheaper to register and insure, that parts and services in the future will be less, but best of all… older trucks kill it in the cool department. go figure.
all we can do is build them… can't afford to finance them too. hope she comes back and continues the build, I don't know what to do with it otherwise.

and thanks Daddy-Oh.. really dig your work.

Re: tuba trucks

Thanks Bomp and LowElco, the good news is she came by on Friday with an installment and reassured me that all was good... Maude's Back.
We spent a couple of weeks on the Austin Blue and got quite a bit done. Front sheet metal and bright work hung, Retro sound stereo and subs installed, all the factory air stuff finished and a bunch of the paint and body work on the bed and tailgate plus the wheel tubs...

Re: tuba trucks

Friday was a banner day... after 5 years of sitting out back all deprived and neglected my 39 deluxe coupe is headed for headers. Custom Craft Headers is building a set of fender walls for the LS6. That is hopefully only the beginning of the work on this car cause I really want to drive my HotRod before... ahhh, well, you know, before.

I think I might have to fight you for that seat Bomp . The truck looks great just wish I was coming over this year , but I guess if I come next year the Hot Rod might be finished .
