Hey i like those speaker enclosures. Do you have more detail about how you made them? What did you do to seal them from the backside? Thanks

Re: What did you do to your truck today part IV

Front clip off in order to tidy some things up before the engine goes back in..

Knew it was a solid truck, but great to see just how clean it really is!

Always annoyed me how the PO shot a load of black paint around the windshield and under the hood, so I've started rubbing it back wherever I can. Long, slow, painful process..

Looking better already..

Re: What did you do to your truck today part IV

I installed my speakers today. I was going you try and get some interior quotes this week but instead I need to figure out why my truck won’t start when it is hot.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part IV

Picked up an original 63 fender yesterday, and installed it this morning. Looks so much better than the old one that was so rusted out that I had to zip tie the bottom part on.

I did a little peaking around today and noticed that my fule line is about half an inch from one of my header tubes. It is a braided stainless line. Could that be the problem? Could that cause vapor lock? Does my problem sound like vapor lock is an issue?

Re: What did you do to your truck today part IV

I finished installing the seats. Had to put some 1 1/2 x 1/4" flat iron under the floor between the bolts to prevent breaking of the sheet metal. It stiffened it up a lot.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part IV

I got my front end alignment done yesterday and man is it nice. I learned something tho so I thought I'd share. The truck pulled to the right. The tire guys said radials will have a tendency to pull one way or the other, even brand new. Their balancer measures how much pull and direction for each tire and recommends a placement to minimize the net pull or to have a slight left pull to accommodate the road crown.

Trying to keep the oil in the 250. Tightened down two loose bolts on the valve cover and changed a side cover gasket. Will have to remember to get another #1 (short) spark plug wire next time at the auto wreckers.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part IV

Finished the drop.

the rear leaf springs had been re-arched about 10 years ago and I had dropped spindles (2 1/2" ) with Eibach 1" under springs before this weekend.

But I decided to do the C Notch and had to do several additional steps

1. I had to remove and lower the front spring perch 2 inches I built a gusset and boxed it for strength
Name: 20180501_182619.jpg
Views: 414
Size: 54.0 KB

2.cut off and remounted spring perch on rear end after setting proper pinion angle.

Also had to notch the forward cross member for drive shaft clearance, (no picture as I did this after assembly when we noticed contact during the first test drive)

So we put it all together and took a picture for comparison

before the C Notch and spring flip

Size: 50.8 KB

After

Name: 20180503_122834.jpg
Views: 411
Size: 45.5 KB

Once we had that all done I just did not like how flat the truck was, it measured zero pitch but looked nose high

So back on the lift and I yanked the front springs and pulled half a coil of height out of them by heating and flattening them out

Done
