Alright! What are the plans for this one? Full resto back to stock or adding some modern comforts?

Re: 1972 Blazer undecided!!

Is a budget a concern? Skills for larger changes? Time?

Real easy for internet folks to throw out crazy ideas you may not have time/money/skills to pull off.

Big difference in me saying CUMMINS SWAP vs GM Goodwrench 350 haha.

Re: 1972 Blazer undecided!!

Money is definitely an issue!!!! But going to make it a 4x4 again and sell the other frame and 2-wheel components!!! Probably going to try LS-7 this time and make some other modifications!!! This may be the one I keep but it may take a little bit do to trying to finish up new house and old horse barn I am turning into my garage!!

Re: 1972 Blazer undecided!!

I have 3 of these now. At one point I owned 7. Don't judge - I like these rigs.

1972 Chevy Blazer - factory 2wd
1970 GMC Jimmy - 2wd converted from 4x4
1971 Chevy Blazer - 4x4

I like them each in a different way.

If you want to go back to complete OEM specs based on the SPID- those usually have the best return on money - should you ever decide to sell.

Either way you go - it seems like solid examples of these trucks are going up in price.

Re: 1972 Blazer undecided!!

Nice - that should save you quite a bit of time on body work for the rear half!
Which supplier did you go with?

Re: 1972 Blazer undecided!!

Well, I'd say you got it apart! Are you going back 2wd or 4wd?

Good luck, Rg

Re: 1972 Blazer undecided!!

Just keep everything loose to confirm alignment before final welding and you should be good. Keep the pictures coming so we can follow along!

Re: 1972 Blazer undecided!!

Starting to put body panels together and so far just have one quarter and inner fender on and had to do a little trimming on rear floor pan to get quarter to attach! Also received my new springs did a 2" lift. Hopefully can get front and rear end back today so I can get it on the skates to move away from wall to start on other side!

Re: 1972 Blazer undecided!!

I got the axles back today and everything inside had to be replaced(Everything) so I started to put back under blazer to get it back on wheels and start the build.

Re: 1972 Blazer undecided!!

Started working on getting quarters on and ordered the lower piece that connects to the rear floor and the front floor pan and hopefully can start getting this together! Picked up a set of rally wheels that I may put on it!

Re: 1972 Blazer undecided!!

the plate you are waiting on (the step up from the front floor to the bed) needs to go on before the bedsides get fully installed. So steps would be:
  • place bed floor on frame
  • attach step up plate to bed floor laying on frame
  • attach bedsides to other parts

Looks good so far!
