Anti theft transmission? LOL
http://www.foxnews.com/world/2017/06...ve-manual.html
I think the victim would have been better off still had she locked her door. |

Re: Anti theft transmission? LOL
I have a friend in Chicago whose '72 GTO was stolen (and recovered).
It has a floor shifted 3 speed. He ordered it that way because his '67 GTO had that same trans and he liked it. Witnesses said that you could hear the gears grinding as the thieves drove away. The car is all original except where it was repaired around the driver's door lock, and the trunk lid (which was re-painted before he took delivery). K

Didn't his goat have the reverse lock out steering column?
Or was it disabled? |

Re: Anti theft transmission? LOL
LOL. I think a manual transmission would be something of deterrent but like the member above explained, not totally. Also a member had his 3 speed on the column (!) stolen last year but fortunately it was recovered.
**I wonder how he and his truck are doing now.......I'm curious now that I think about it. The link about happened in Australia so self defense "tools" are impossible for the victim there. |

The police were no help. He found the car himself by cruising the bad parts of town where stolen cars get dumped. He saw it parked on a side street, hopped in and drove it home. K

Re: Anti theft transmission? LOL
My brother did that for both of the company trucks bad employees stole, both times he found the trucks himself, called the police, and told them "get over here and arrest this guy before I end him."

Re: Anti theft transmission? LOL
If I found my stolen truck I'd be sure to let the cops know I had it and was drivng it..some of the local cops we've got would try to arrest you for stealing your own truck

Police also tend to discourage resisting attackers..........how did going along with hijackers work out 9/11/01? But that's been changing a bit. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2016/01/15...l-to-arms.html |
