Need your experience k20 brake line routing and frame differences

I am in process of installing a set of inline tube brake lines on my 67 k20
I purchased a set for a 71 k20 as l am install disk brakes and a d44 open knuckle

All the lines fit very nicely from the back around the crossmember and from both sides until they meet the master lines

The problem is that the master cylinder lines do not match up with the lines crossing the front cross member
When I called inline they said that the frame is different between the 67 and 71and just bend them to fit with no other information or resolution

I need your experience to verify this, I thought they were all basically the same in this area
Also if different how do the lines route on a 71

Thanks

Looks like you're setup to put the prop valve there. Or what are you going to do at that junction. The original had the "T" going through the frame, with soft line on outside and the hard routing off to the passenger.

I would just bent the line to fit, no big deal. Nothing from in-line will fit perfect.

I would route the lines from the master, straight down to outside of frame and "T" off the front lines on inside of the frame on driver side. Route passenger front and rear along cross member. Then rear line in frame channel all the way back.

I run my prop valve at the cross member, although the 1970 originally had the distribution block under the master. I'm running a PR102 for my disc drum hydroboost.

Re: Need your experience k20 brake line routing and frame differences

Thanks for the reply
Everything fits fairly well everywhere except the master lines

I don't have a problem bending lines
what I have a problem with is a company not addressing a problem and blowing smoke to get me off the line
If someone can verify that the frames of a 67 and a 71 are the same in the front area
I'll be justified at being p^$t
If they're different I'll apologize
Either way I'll end up bending my own master set
hoping to find a pic of original lines to copy

Ya, gotcha! I think you're only gonna create heart ache fighting with them. At least rear lines laid in there nice. Sine the lines come close, so you can fudge the rest like you said.

Hopefully someone will chime in with the pics you're looking for. good Luck!

From the master the lines go down to the outside of the frame.
Travel forward and then over the frame...
The front brakes T off on the front crossmember
Does that help?

Re: Need your experience k20 brake line routing and frame differences

But I guess the answer to your original question is "No"! Not the same. I copied the routing of an 85 K3500. Wanted the prop valve at the cross member.

Re: Need your experience k20 brake line routing and frame differences

Ok so picked up a couple lengths on stainless line and following the examples you all provided here is what I came up with.
Now ready to finish install of the new axle

Thanks again for your assistance
