I know some that I have seen look just like the ones from the 80's S-10.

You are probably right..

I guess so many people (me included) do not use hub caps anymore that not many know what hub caps fit what year,,

I know that the wheels that fit the 71 AND 72 Chevy 1/2 tons are the only ones that will fit these years as they went to 1/2 inch studs ,but I was thinking that the dog dish hub caps and full caps would fit other years,,

I just don't want to buy a hub cap and find that it does not fit and have to buy another,,

Any GM hubcap from a 5-lug car or 5/6 lug truck that fastens using the outer nubs will fit. I have '54 Chevy car caps on the rollers on my '67 project. On my first truck in '73, a '72 C/10, I had '55 Chevy car hubcaps on a set of 8"/10" wheels

Just 8-lugs take a different cap because of larger bolt circle diameter. The bolt pattern dictates the hubcaps size. The smaller cars with 4-lug had smaller caps.

I have '65 Pontiac hub caps for my '67 project. On my first '72, back in '73, I took the Highlander wheel covers off and out '55 Chevy car hubcaps on. I also got wider wheels. Thoose are the ones with bowties in a ring around the hubcap
