Door Window Reassembly Question

I haven't seen this question yet but in regards to putting the door glass back in our trucks. Can I install new inner and outer dew wipe seals after the window and regulator are completely back together? I still have to paint my truck but I know my skill sets are not up to par in the arena of not screwing up fresh paint. I have rattle canned the area with a close color to the paint I want. I just want to simplify my door installation with out having cool expensive paint with custom scratches. Thanks in advance.

Paul

Re: Door Window Reassembly Question

Paul, I'm also a USAF (Vietnam) veteran, so you know that I won't steer you wrong. The wipers can be put in after painting and I think you'd like it better than having to mask them off or get paint on them and ruin the finished product. With the glass all the way down, it's easy to see where they mount and I think that you can install new ones without nicking the new paint. Use some appropriate masking tape to protect the new paint...just like the high-end painters do when they reassemble vehicles that are way expensive...like $100K plus.
