Fuel level sender

I have a 1969 Chevy C10. The gas tank was moved from the cab to under the truck bed. The truck had a bunch of cheap aftermarket gauges installed. I have purchased and am trying to install the factory gauge set. I am having an issue with the fuel gauge. It does not work with the sender that is currently in the tank. Has anyone had any luck finding a sender unit for an aftermarket tank that works with the factory gauge?
