What is optimal lift for 35" tires? 1/2 ton

What is the optimal lift for 35's? I would like to stick with BF Goodrich tires, and that is their biggest size. I have a 1/2 ton with a 6 inch suspension lift right now and have 36's on it. They are too wide for my needs and are worn out. I am thinking of putting a smaller lift on the truck. Any suggestions?

I always used a 4" lift with 35's. I like the look of the tires tucked up into the body. I did have a 6' on a 75 Blazer with 35's, and it looked good too. I usualy use the BFG all terrain 35x12.50's on these. The 6" lift will need a lot more parts to make it right (such as dropped pitman arm, extended brake lines, transfer case drop, etc.). If your 6' lift is already in, and is right, I would say use it. Of course, the lift you need depends a lot on what you plan to do with the truck. If you need a lot of suspension travel, the 6" is the way to go.

I will mainly use my truck for everyday driving. I don't like the stock look, so a lift would be great for weekend fun as well. The 6" is already on the truck. It doesn't have extended brake lines, or transfer case drop. It does have the dropped pitman arm though.

4" would be enough. The BFG 35s are a lillte less than 35". I had their Mud terrains w/ 4" on a 85 K5 with no clearance problems I used a raised steering arm for the steering I have a dropped pitman arm now w/ 2" lift on my K25, works also.

I put a 6 inch lift on my 1979 short bed K-15, and it really sits off of the tires.. Knowing what I know now, I would of gotten some bigger boggers(35's) or a 4 inch lift kit..

Had to extend the brake lines, and put the arm on my drivers side knuckle...
