Kinda neat ... now with a couple of pics

Neighbour and I had a yard sale last weekend. I had my truck pulled out of the garage and was tinkering with it. This lady comes up and asks me if I ever rent it out for commercials or photo shoots. Tell her I never have but sounds interesting. she asks me to e-mail a couple of pics to her. She called today and I have to take it for a tailgate party shoot on friday. $300 to watch them take pictures with people around my truck.

Re: Kinda neat

I've thought that would be cool to have one of my cars in a movie or commercial. Then I see what they do to these cars when filming. Walk or dance on the roof and hood. OMG! Make sure they don't trash your truck. If they do, $300 would not be worth it to me.

That's cool though. I'm sure everyone would love the opportunity so long as the truck is not injured.

Re: Kinda neat

Green Monster beat me to it. Get it in writing that they will pay for any damages incurred while filming or the truck is under their posession. Sounds neat, though.

Re: Kinda neat

It looks like it is a photo shoot for a tailgate party ad. I plan on being there the whole time. Also plan on going over the truck with them before and after for damage.

Re: Kinda neat

My 1/2 ton was in a commercial years back when my Dad first got it running and it was mostly stock. They were trying to make it look like the 50's in the commercal so it was black and white. We still have it on VHS, it was neat because the truck wasn't that nice at the time but it looked nice in black and white from the angle they filmed it going down the street. It had to be the late 80's or so. I am excited for you, sounds like a neat deal. That is one hell of a nice truck you got there too!

Re: Kinda neat

All they have told me so far is that it is for a tailgate party for an American catalgue. It looks like they are going to use my friends orange 68 GTO and 72 Mario's red short box. Nothing heavy in the back just some models in and around them. They are filling in with some regular cars but ours are supposed to be the main vehicles.
The shoot has been moved to Tuesday so I plan on taking some pics too!

Re: Kinda neat

Well after a day of standing and holding reflectors it was interesting. The catalogue is for a company that sells t-shirts, sweats, hoodies and other clothing for companies that print logo's etc on them. 72 Mario (red truck) and I arrived at 8:00 and left about 4:00. The owner of the company was there to watch and he told us that the trucks made the shoot. The photgrapher took a bunck of pic of the trucks after the shoot and is going to e-mail us copies. The catalogue should be out in Sept.

Re: Kinda neat

Those trucks do look good together. Needed a 60-66 in the scene to complete it for me 55 2nd thru 72 are my favorite years. I would probably look through that catalog and never even know what they're selling
