Only because we suffer the summer, here's our day1 run in Tucson. 72 degrees, sunshine and the truck made the 60 mile round trip with flying colors. Cold beer and pozole/bolillos at the end. This is the way to start the year.

Nice. And it looks like a nice turnout, too.

I'd love to get a day out in the truck right now. I managed to get about 4 hrs work done in the barn today despite the max temp of 9 deg. It was time to call it quits when my face was freezing despite being only three feet from the wood stove.

Pozole & bolillos, hmmmm my kind of good stuff.

That’s hominy, pintos beans & (usually) beef in a rich broth style soup served in traditional Mexican rolls to you guys out east!

Just wondering how many rods from Washington were there. We have a lot of rodders migrate to Arizona after they retire and get in some winter cruising.

Met people from South Dakota and Minnesota and do some hot rod work for a guy from Seattle who winters here but won't show up till this month. You all can get a laugh this summer when you're cruising and it's 115 here.

I really can't imagine that. When I lived in MT we'd see 102-106 for a week to ten days and that seemed hot. I can't imagine a summer of 105+ temps.

Regardless, it looks like there are some nice rides out there.

hey speedbump, how much did you pancake your hood? looks great.thinking about doing mine, maybe 1 1/2 inches. dunno what it would look like, more-less? I have lots of room underneath, inline 4.2L.

It started out a 1 1/2 but by the time everything was "tuned up" it was probably closer to 1 5/8 to 1 3/4. Thanks for the complement. With the TF folks it seems to be either love or hate with little middle ground. Hadn't planned on doing it until the trail fit after the top chop. The hood looked so big sticking out there, decided it had to be done.

My ongoing truck projects: 48 Chev 3100 that will run a 292 Six. 71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant. 77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.
