72 K20 front u-joint bolt size?

Ok, So I'm ready to put my front diff driveshaft in and I can't find the 4 original bolts that go into the u-joint assy on the front of the transfer case. Anyone know the size I need to buy? I'm at work now hoping to stop on my way home to buy the bolts for the re-assembly process this weekend.

Thank you. I will pick up a couple lengths around 1-1/2" and longer and hope for the best. Do you think grade 5 is good enough? I will try to buy grade 8 but most places around here have limited stock

you might try an auto parts store with a good choice of Dorman products. I seem to remember they have those or off to Lowes you go and yes I think their 5/16 fine thread.

5/16x24. 3 /4" is likely IF you have the same yoke style we are talking about.

Re: 72 K20 front u-joint bolt size?

I purchased 5/16 NF x 1.5 long bolts but I still needed to grind off about a 1/16 to get them to fit the gap between the back side of the yoke between the transfer case. Thanks everyone for helping me out!
