Yep. Available as an option.

Nice size tire for that rig.

The square body truck had a huge list of options,If you had the money and wanted to order it and wait for it the sky was the limit. And add on the dealer options the list is even bigger.

That was the biggest factory tire used, often what came on 8" rallyes, steelies, 8-hole alloys or the stamped white spokes. I was hoping to see the truck

Here's a pic of my truck with 31's on 15x8 wheels to give this thread a little more life.

Now I have a question. My speedometer is about 4 to 5 miles per hour off at 60 m.p.h. I figured I was out of luck because I didn't think 31's came stock on these trucks. Can I buy the correct speedo gear to make the speedometer accurate? Seems like there must be one if these tires came stock on the truck.

Oh so nice. Downright handsome. There was, maybe still is, a guy with an '87 dark grey short Stepside K/10 with the alloys runnin' around this area. I know where he lives or lived. I men he had it since new. This thread makes me want to run by there to see if he still has it. Might even knock on the door to see if it's even still him living there. Maybe it's parked and I'd be getting him off the couch at the very moment he's contimplating maybe it's time to let the ole friend go. And of course he would feel I was the perfect guy for it to go to. He'd feel so good he'd adjust the price to fit my budget, as long as I promised to bring it by for visits from time to time. Alright, guess it's time to get back to reality

yes - or, some packages came with an external adapter to correct the speedo (mine did).

You might check into that as well.

Trying to decide what tires to put on it Tuesday when I land. Drive to SAMs, Costco or discount tire and get a set of 31X10.5X15.

Here's a shot,

Congrats on the new truck! It already looks better with the new shoes. Looks like my truck's cousin.

How did she do on the drive back home?

Re: Original 87 short stepside, 350/4 speed 4X4...tires 31X10.5 stock?

I drove it up to Maine first, I am fortunate enough to be able to get out of the hill country in the summer and live on our boat with my wife in the S.Portland harbor.
The drive was 850 miles at 65-75 MPH getting around 15mpg. Ran like a champ and used maybe a half a quart of oil.

I got up at 4:00 am to catch a 6:00am flight to Raleigh. Landed at 10:00 and seller met me at airport. Gave him the cash and I started the search for tires. Took a couple hours to find suitable ones and by 3:00 in the afternoon I was on the road back to the boat/home. Drove it straight thru and home by 10:00 am the following day. In total from getting up to leave and laying back down it was a 30 hour adventure

That sounds like an adventure! I just made about a 500 mile round trip to the hill country in mine. Half of that was pulling a 21ft. boat. I was a little worried about keeping up with the flow of traffic pulling the boat, but the old girl didn't complain too much. I was able to maintain about 65-70 m.p.h. with the boat. The speed limit on parts of I-10 is 75 m.p.h.
