Thanks for sharing Dave. Awesome videos as usual. I was going to ask you if you miss your K5 or considered shortening the K10 but you answered those in that last video. Keep it up and Good Luck with the adoption. Can't wait to see you and "The Little Man" hitting the trail.

Thanks! I don't think I even notice anymore, especially with the long wheel base it makes everything so much easier, well except turning tight corners!

I got out for a nice trail ride with my 4x4 club and the boy! It was a great day of wheelin', grillin' and being in good company!

Re: 84 K10 Custom Deluxe 5.3 build

She held up in Sand Hollow this weekend on some trails that were rated a 7, but once we got of course on the last trail and ended up on a 9 rated trail, things got interesting!!

Oh man I would be devastated if that happened to my 81 haha. I think a bobbed short bed would do wonders for ya.

Re: 84 K10 Custom Deluxe 5.3 build

Yet another cool video. I can't wait to have time to get out wheeling again. I wish we had that type of terrain a little closer to PA. Some day when my truck is capable I will be towing the Jeep west to do some real wheeling.

Re: 84 K10 Custom Deluxe 5.3 build

Thanks for more great videos Dave. I watched the one on trailering your rig home as well and I'm glad that it turned out good. Keep the videos coming and can't wait to see that Blazer build, if you get it. My Jimmy is still apart and yet i went out and found an 1987 R20 single cab that needed rescuing from its previous owner. His tool of choice must have been a zip saw.

Thanks, It was a crazy towing experience and I am happy to be here lol. Good luck with the projects, keep plugging away you will get it. I understand about rescuing more, if it wasn't for my wife I would probably have 10 trucks in my backyard lol

It's time to put an auto in the K10. The TH400 and NP205 should work...

Re: 84 K10 Custom Deluxe 5.3 build

I like the new format, I can definitely see where it would come in handy for people doing or considering doing what it is your about to tackle. I like knowing the part number, source, and price (even though it is subject to change.) Keep it up and get that thing going again. I have a Turbo 400 that came out of my '89 that I would gladly give you if you were up here.

Re: 84 K10 Custom Deluxe 5.3 build

I got her out on the trail yesterday, she did well, I wasn't disappointed. I could use lower gears but it had plenty of power to climb everything, it sounds like I was really on the throttle because it is so loud but I wasn't, just letting the converter work. Here is the video of a trail locally known as copper cache.

You guys believe in EVP?. Yesterday while editing video I heard a strange voice on one of my videos that I did by an old mine shaft. You can clearly hear it over my truck, you can hear the guys I was with having a casual conversation before and after the voice like nothing happened. I didn't hear the voice while I was on the trail, and you can see in the video I didn't look around just keep on. If I or the guys I was there with heard yelling like this we would have all be like WTF, does someone need help etc. You let me know what you think, it gave me the creeps.

Here it is forward vs reverse.

Re: 84 K10 Custom Deluxe 5.3 build

Ran a local trail called Devils Peak yesterday and the K10 did great. It's rated at about a 4 out of 5 and definitely lived up to that. It was slick out there, all of the rigs were on 35 or larger tires and we all had to work for it. I dented up my rear driveline and had to be towed home by a big Chuck Norris van but she is in the garage ready for me to work on! I think I broke an axle shaft or something up front trying to drive in FWD to get back into town but I will see when I tear it down this week. In addition the auto made life much easier but the 4.11's have got to go, either that or a doubler....

The Highlight reel, full video to come.

one of the K10 on the first obsacle.

Re: 84 K10 Custom Deluxe 5.3 build

How about a few more videos.

The second obstacle, coming up with some slo-mo, man that thing takes a beating.

The whole group coming up.

Figured out what was going on with the front axle.
