Re: Seat bolt size and thread pitch?

they look similar to the cowl bolts. I believe its the same size as well. Pull a bolt from the side of the windshield cowl and see if it matches

Re: Seat bolt size and thread pitch?

I bought new bolts for my seat from LMC and they worked perfectly.

Re: Seat bolt size and thread pitch?

If you mean the bench seat brackets to seat and floor, (GR 5) 1/2" hex recessed head tapered bolts with spin washers. The bolt threads are 5/16-18 x 7/8" under the spin washer, and the heads are stamped RBM.

Here's a whole bunch of them before refinish. Integrated. You know, the washer that spins around under head but won't pull off. Most are flat washers, some star washers, some split washers. Tooth washers for headlight grounds.

Basically my bench seat bolts are 1" long under head, but 7/8" - ish under the spin flat washer. According to my truck, similar bolts are often 3/4" under the spin washers. Those for my bench seat a pinch longer.

Just my two cents. GM would have gone out of their way to simplify stuff, so to me that means seats take the same bolts. But I can only speak for a bench. Another way to think about it, I don't have a bracket in front of me to measure, but I don't know, 3/16"ish? Full 1/8" at least, guessing. If the brackets you're working with are the same, yeah, probably the bolts cited above. Note GM had their reasons for installing grade 5 seat bolts.

Re: Seat bolt size and thread pitch?

Aren’t the original style bolts pointed to assist in getting them started compared with a regular bolt.
