I guess no one has ran into this setup. I'm going to have to cut it off. With out cutting into the spindle. Going to do that tomorrow.

Never seen it, but I'm assuming there is another retainer.
Maybe it *is* the spindle nut, have you tried turning it out?

Re: 77 Chevy K10 Need help with removing manual locking hubs

i think your hub body was rusted / corroded / fuzed in to the wheel hub . so what you did was prob the best way at your point to go about it .

Re: 77 Chevy K10 Need help with removing manual locking hubs

This is how it comes off.

Remove the screws. Before you pull this off.

Remove big ring from here.

Remove smaller snap ring.

Pull this out.

Remove the ring.

Pull the gear out.

Now you are at the easy part.

Make sure to prep and paint that hub hat with some high temp engine enamel so it will stay pretty and not get rust colored. Or have them powdercoated!

That's the company I worked for back in the 80s. I may have installed that set at one point and installed the shaft in the 203. Saving that pic

Re: 77 Chevy K10 Need help with removing manual locking hubs

Sorry I didn't see this before you cut it apart...those are Selectro Locking Hubs (with an odd name/text/rebranded). They're still made today as Selectro Classics. If you search around you can find several threads that start out like yours.
