Re: GMC Production Numbers (Survivors List)
Oh Great and I even messed up my sign in name then. TY for correcting me, you would think a 70 year old would know that. Will get in touch with the Heritage Center and TY again for that info.

Re: GMC Production Numbers (Survivors List)
Oh right! Now I'm thinking Chevy when I should be thinking GMC. How original is the truck? Can you get pictures? We may be able to help

Forgot to mention that the motor is 1979 per block code and metal tag. Out of a C20 etc.

Re: GMC Production Numbers (Survivors List)
The trim on the back window and door panels suggest it's a Super Custom, mid-level trim. Was it white before the repaint? What does the emblem say on the glovebox door?

Re: GMC Production Numbers (Survivors List)
Thought it was original paint. Glove box sticker painted over so in retrospect, I guess it has been repainted just by that fact. It does look like it was white originally then as I do not notice any other colors anywhere else. TY for the info on trim etc.

Re: GMC Production Numbers (Survivors List)
I could tell by the paint on the pedals and steering column. The column, gb door, & gauge cluster would have been olive and the pedals black. I'm curious what that emblem on the gb is.

Re: GMC Production Numbers (Survivors List)
Lightly sanded on the paint on label/sticker-------blue under white. Will be doing some sanding/rust removal inside cab and maybe it has been painted a different color more than once. Looks like the original label was taken off as there was nothing under the white.

Re: GMC Production Numbers (Survivors List)
What does that emblem say? Curious if that came off another truck. Sounds like it.

Re: GMC Production Numbers (Survivors List)
What emblem r u asking about? I did look at the defrost dash cover--about 1/2" green at top where it attaches to defrost grill. Went ahead and ordered fuel tank for under the bed as original tank and all hoses would have to be replaced anyway. Starting to take metal bed plate and rear bumper off now as I bought new chrome rear bumper and a re-purpose store has sections of maple gym floor that I hopefully can get for cheap. Thinking of one piece rather than cutting it into seven strips etc.

Re: GMC Production Numbers (Survivors List)
I you get a chance, could you snap a shot of the emblem? Just trying to learn something about your truck and educate myself on the different emblems. Your truck would be the Super Custom (mid-level) trim from everything else I've seen. You said you see blue under there? I'm wondering if that is the original door or not. The original would have been Dark Olive to go with the interior trim color. So was the original instrument cluster. BTW, that's a neat truck. I love long Fenderside/Stepsides. Is it a 5 or 8 lug?
