Got a little more paint and the trim on. Getting closer to a regular cruiser.

Re: 65 K-10 not quite orginal

I guess I have to mark this up to working the bugs out. I discovered last weekend my motor produces to much power (is that even possible?) or maybe I should say to much power for the transmission I was running. The transmission was the only part I didn't completely build a new while I was originally working on the truck. Well I am now having one build specifically for my application, having a heavy foot. Hopefully the next time I find a weak link it is easier and cheaper to fix.

Re: 65 K-10 not quite orginal

Back on the road again. Its been a week of driving with no transmission issues. Even got my own special parking space. Note the sign behind my truck. Now to track down my small oil leak.

Where did you get the gas filler door? Which tank did you use? Probably my next project.... Thanks!

Re: 65 K-10 not quite orginal

The filler door is by Tanks Inc. I used their flat with a angled enclosure. I was hoping it would sneak under the floor but as you should find in one of my pictures I had to build an enclosure in the bed for neck clearance. I liked the small size of the door it gave me room for the side trim. I used one of the blazer rear tank kits with a side fill. Because of how low the filler neck is I have a hard time completely filling the tank. On the short bed I had to relocate crossmembers to gain enough clearance for the tank. I could see it being a much easier install on a longbed.

Do you by chance have any pictures of your throttle cable setup...I bought that same gas pedal for mine and haven't worked out the cable yet, right now I'm not getting full throttle...probably a good thing I'm not...

Re: 65 K-10 not quite orginal

Randy, Sorry for the delay in responding to your question. I have been vacationing in TN (With my truck!). I just rolled in home (I only do the internet on my home computer). What areas exactly do you need pictures of? I will be happy to snap some pictures for you tomorrow.

Re: 65 K-10 not quite orginal

Randy I hope these pictures help. I am sure I am using different bracketry than what you need. I am running a 700R4 instead of a manual and therefore I have a kickdown cable as well. Can you adjust you pedal up a little?

Re: 65 K-10 not quite orginal

While I was on vacation in Tennessee, I got Chase Spears to do some pin striping. Officially have it named Jack, face and lettering designed by my son. He was bouncing off the walls when he saw it on the dash!

Love the pin striping, especially over the door pulls.
