3500 HD 4x4

Anyone have one of the factory conversion 4x4? I know Monroe seems to be the most popular for these year trucks.

I have a 92 3500HD rollback I’m toying with the idea of a 4x4 conversion. My biggest concern is I don’t want it lifted, like it seems most of the Monroe trucks are with the solid axle.

Was hoping someone had pics, I was wondering if I could flip the axle on top of the front springs to stay low.

A lot of little BS stuff to convert and really no way of making it low. It can be done, but IIRC the diff is super close to the axle. There is another issue, but can't think of what it is right now. Also need to regear the rear axle, either have 4.63s or 5.13s. The Dana 80 can except gears down to at least 3.55s. Google 3500HD 4x4 and will find quite a bit of info. There is a website just for these, 3500HD.com. Don't need to register, still can navigate.

Yeah I was actually thinking of trying to find a Monroe conversion and just swap everything to my truck.

My truck has 4.63 in it. I wouldn’t mind some 3.73s for the Highway.

For the front axle, I was wondering if I could flip the Dana 70hd on top of the leans rather than under. Might take some modifications but I’ve got a welder

Re: 3500 HD 4x4

There were 4 different conversion companies that did these. They were done with different parts ( spring over , spring under and the front wheel adapters). The first years 91-95 vs 96-2002 were down much different.

1.Tulsa did most convrsions. They did spring over and was 7" higher than stock. They also supplied most of the parts to the other companies.
2. Monroe did spring under 3" higher than stock.
3. Fontaine.
4. Quigley.

Hubs
- The wheel adapters were built from stock Dana 60 DRW hubs and bolt on 8 to 10 lug.

- The other version were SRW bolt on 8 to 10 lug adapters that were 1 piece.

Front axle
Dana 60 with adapters
Dana 70 with Dana 60 parts and adapters.

Thanks
