Hey guys and gals,I am starting to think that it would be kind of nice to have power brakes on the old beast.What i am wondering is what all parts i would need?It's a 69 c10 with drums all the way around,I can't afford to go disk now and want to keep the 6 lugs anyway.About what will this cost me and how easy is it to do?Thanx for the help guys...............James

That was the first thing I did to my truck. I got a booster, master cylinder, proportioning valve and pedal assembly off a 68 3/4 ton (well, Palf70step did and sold them to me). I wound up using my master cylinder and prop valve just because there was some rust in the m/c I got from Bill, but I am going to get a new m/c and replace mine. I used my old brake pedal assy. I don't know if it is because I used my pedal assy or m/c but my pedal sits really high. It is something I had to get used to. I had to adjust the rod between the booster and m/c but if you use the correct m/c it should not be a problem. It only took about 4 hours to do and a lot of that was adjusting the stupid brake light switch. BTW to connect the rod to your brake pedal just remove the plate under the dash holding the steering column in and let it sag.

I noticed immediate improvement and now I can lock all 4 drums up without getting a muscle cramp!

OH Yeah, the whole setup only cost me 20 bucks plus brake fluid!

Make sure you have at least 12 inches of vacuum at idle, or forget about power brakes.

Thanx for the info krue,i doubt if i can get lucky enough to get away with it only costing me $20.....lol.What is the average price to get everything i need?

You can probaly find the whole set up pedal assembly and all for 40-50 in a yard. maybe less. Thats's what I picked up the one krue used for, but the MC got ruined when my shed started to leak on it.
