Unless the thread got wiped out, we've decided before that you have to change to the new metric studs to accept the newer lug nuts with the external threads to hold the plastic nuts that hold the plastic center caps.

info from the EBAY link above

This is a set of 20, NEW, Chevy or GMC conversion lug nuts that converts 14mm to 1/2". This will allow the 5 lug, 1990-99 Chevy or GMC Truck OEM factory wheels to be installed on a 1973-87 Chevy or GMC truck. I have pictured the black plastic caps and one center cap, however they are not on auction, only the lug nuts. I showed the center cap and black plastic caps so you could be sure you were buying the correct lug nuts. There are threads inside and outside of the lug nut. The black cap from the 14mm lug nuts will thread on the top of these lug nuts. The inside is 1/2" as is the older Chevy and GMC trucks. Lug nuts are very technical, however if you have any questions simply E-mail me. E-bay is my retirement hobby and I can answer most lug nut questions. I accept paypal, money orders, cashiers check, visa and mastercard. Freight is $8.00 and Okla. residents pay 8.375% sales tax. The freight I listed is for the US. I will ship outside of the US, however E-mail for the freight charges BEFORE bidding, as lug nuts are very heavy. THANKS FOR LOOKING!!!!!!!

Thanks guys, I found out today at the tire shop that the Astro's are 5 on 5 and haven't been metric'ized. Now, if they will be deep enough to cover the front spindle?
