Show Me Your Custom Interiors

As a precursor to my post, I have used the search function and while there are some decent posts similar to this one, a majority of the photos have been rendered blank by the Photobucket issue. So this is a good opportunity to update the content.

I will be redoing the interior in my 57 3100 this year and I am interested in seeing your custom interiors for ideas to build on what I already have in mind. I am particularly interested if you have a black exterior truck and/or red or tan interiors. However, please show me what you have even if it does not fit in one of those categories. Please let me know what materials you used for the seats and headliner (vinyl, leather, suede, ect...) and how happy you are with it. I was thinking of putting some LED interior lighting also so if you have any photos/info on materials for that, let me see/know. Lastly, you do not need to have a heavily modified interior to post, subtle, tasteful, ect... I want to see it all.

Thanks in advance.

Subscribed. I've run into same issue looking for interior pics of 47-54. I'd like to see different color schemes, fabrics, etc.

Subscribed. I belong to several forums and its broken photobucket links everywhere you look. I'm partial to the black with red interior as well. I'm currently leaning towards the procar lowback or MTI. Procar are pretty reasonable priced. I've attached some of my interior wish pics

Kevin, I have these seats, well one technically, in the beige and I freaking love it. Bolstering is great. Can't wait to get it together.

Re: Show Me Your Custom Interiors

B-Mac those tan buckets look really nice. Unfortunately, I'm keeping the bench. I wanted buckets, but my wife likes bench and since she doesn't get much say on the truck I threw her a bone.

Funny...that's why I have "beige" instead of "black"...my better half likes the malt-shop look.

Re: Show Me Your Custom Interiors

I like those seats a lot bmac, someone in town was selling a red set and I waited too long to call.

I did burgundy in my 41, I love that color because it goes with almost any outside color. seats are from a lebaron

I did very light cream on the 49, looked amazing but never again, if you breathe on it, its dirty. seat is a 88-98 fullsize bench.

I'm sad to hear that about the cream-colored interior. That's the route I was planning.

If you like it, do it. If practicality were the determining factor, we'd all be driving a Prius. Besides, shaving cream cleans white interiors nicely.

Used the stock seat frame and springs and tried to stay reasonably stock on the rest.

Beautiful interior - would look awesome with a red metalflake steering wheel!

So Russ, I just noticed the windshield on the 41. Is there some kind of push-out (crank-out) safari windshield on that? I dig it.

Ha, the ‘41-46 Art Deco trucks had a crank out windshield. Remember there was no such thing as AC in those days.

I had a nice ‘46 with 350/350, Jag IFS & IRS a few years ago and I got the windshield crank working again. It worked fantastic.

PS: Earlier truck; at least ‘38-‘39 also that them but probably more years too.

NOW you tell me!

Yeah. I couldn’t agree more. I just had the stock seat in my ‘55 redone in a light color. I also have a light interior in my ‘14 daily driver which also get dirty very easily.

Re: Show Me Your Custom Interiors

I think I want my next project to be a 41-46.... those trucks look awesome.

I'm looking to maybe do a brown or tan interior. Just got some samples in the mail. Anyone out there with those colors?

Re: Show Me Your Custom Interiors

It's a work in progress so you'll have to use a little imagination. White door panels, kick panels and seat. The 2 toned dash is smoothed with custom gauges, green loop pile carpeting will finish off the interior.

yeah and its more trouble than its worth! a working crank out doesnt exist without being rebuilt, and rebuilding one costs a ton, and the windshield frame costs another ton.

once when I was driving and enjoying the breeze I watched a yellow jacket bounce off the hood, come in the open gap, get blown up and hit the windshield header then fall on my shirt! I pulled over carefully and shook him loose just as he was getting his bearings back, buzzing angrily.

I think when I do the last 41 I have in the back I will just buy a 47-53 gasket, weld in a perimeter lip and center bar, and make it solidly mounted.

Re: Show Me Your Custom Interiors

Dan, that is probably the tan color I would go with if I do tan. Any specific color code or name to it?

Black Sheep, that is looking super sharp. I am so conflicted on door panels and kick panels. I kind of like the look of my nice black paint there, but yours looks so good.

Keep em coming fellas.

Re: Show Me Your Custom Interiors

Nice work Ogre. What do you think of suede for the headliner? Do you like it or do you think another material would be more suitable? What material are you guys using for headliners?

Re: Show Me Your Custom Interiors

ultrasuede is not leather, it is fabric made to look like suede
i did glue 1/8'' foam to the fabric before installing the headliner
