Low Hump Floor on K-10 Chassis ?

Except for the transmission tunnel height is there other differences in a 2x2 cab VS a 4x4 cab ? I found a 71 K-10 last week and was thinking about mounting my 68 GMC cab & bed on it ? The 68 is a low hump floor, can you just cut out the area for clearance of the shifters ? Or is there other clearance issues ?...Thanks....

Re: Low Hump Floor on K-10 Chassis ?

You will need to cut the floor and install a high hump cover. The process is fairly simple. Pop the cover in place mark the outline and the trim away leaving an overlap flange. Mark and drill the bolt locations and add the weldnuts (or similar).

Here is the process as described in the parts catalog for a replacement cab. Be advised there are differences to consider like the e-brake and others that don't come to mind at the moment.
