A little update. Finished sanding the cab and front fenders. Should be able to deliver it to the painter this weekend.

I tore it down because it had some damage to the hood and cowl when some things fell out of the attic on it. Plus it was due for some TLC. It was built back 87-88 when I was in high school, so it was time for a re-do. Thanks glad you like it. My next project is a bagged 68 SWB for my son.

Re: Project. Long Overdue

My painter come down today and got the first coat of high build primer on the cab and bed. Now it's back to sanding. I am starting to wonder if the sanding will ever end.

It will get another coat later this week and then it is off to his shop for rocker replacement and some more blocking and color.

Your truck has a great stance, do you mind telling me what has been done to lower it, and what are the numbers on your rear wheels, they look large?? Thanks

Thanks 65Pickup. It has stepped a arms(old school) and dropped springs up front and flip kit with c-notch and de-arched leafs in back. It is a 5/7 drop. The rear wheels are 15x10 with a 6" back spacing. Tire is 275/60/15. I have to build a small wheel tub to get rid of tire rub in back.

You know slick it's not the sanding part that is to bad, it's the mess in my garage thats driving me nuts. I got my butt chewed on for walking in the house and forgetting to take off my shoes. All because I needed more beer in the garage.

Yeah the truck will stay the same color. I am planning on bringing it to Puyallup this year, hopefully it's done. I went last year and had a great time. Here is my buddies truck we took last year, and another buddies camaro at the Friday night drags.

Re: Project. Long Overdue

Very cool I remember the green '72 my boys liked that one, and we spent the evening at the drags too. I thought I had a pic of your buddy's 72 but it was the light green one.

The Camaro in the pics are my buddy's, the motorhome was with our group, and my truck is the other pics POS needs body work, but my cash is going into power right now. Enjoy the show this summer, I'll look for you the following year.

Re: Project. Long Overdue

Just a few more hours of blocking to do and then more high build primer. Getting closer.

Re: Project. Long Overdue

love this project! I have a 75 chevy shortbox that I had in highschool and had sold. and 15 years later it reappeared when the fellow I sold it to called me to ask if I wanted it back. he gave it back to me, I did a whack of stuff to it and sold it because I was having a Im done with cars moment. it then reappeared and is back in my hot little hands now. enjoy your truck and never let it go!!!

Thanks man I appreciate that. I have had a few of those moments myself, I'm glad that I just let it sit in the garage until they passed. I just recently bought my old 68 SWB back that will be my next project and my sons first ride. All 3 of my trucks are here to stay.
