Well seeings how I've got like an hour after I get off work before the sun goes down, and my garage/work area is my driveway in 20 degree weather, hopefully to be completed this Saturday (the 6th) evening by sundown or a bit after.

I'm getting anxious to see them work as well

I'm also installing a set of JL AUDIO component speakers in some kick panels with the tweeters installed in the "A" pillars all tied in with the in-dash speakers as well as a 4X10 in the center of the dash to use as a center channel for my stereo.

Awesome! I bought a set years ago off of ebay and they came with brandy new reinforcement plates. I think that from the factory they are glued in with that expensive black adhesive used in body shops (Lord Fuser). I wonder if the donor door was fubar if a guy could just cut the skin to get the plates and use a blue wrench to melt the adhesive so one doesn't bend the shxx out of the plates trying to seperate the two? And somewhere at home in a file i have the actual template to drill the holes from gm. So far all i have done is to install the dash harness. I was still scrounging the door harness's...if i can get a left and right door harness un hacked i was going to order all the delphi micro-metri pack terminals...and connector bodies and build replacements via bread board...

The adhesive is just a black foam, it's nothing special. If you can cut the door open, great, works fine, I just used a heat gun on it and it came right apart. There's a couple rivets that need to come out as well.

Also make sure to get the brace that wraps around the front door track, and take careful measurements re the new hole locations. I cut up pieces of the donor doors and tack-welded them in behind the old holes to provide a backer for the filler. In a perfect scenario you'd just swap the power-mirror doors on.

To get the mirrors to seat properly against the window track I ended up making a tool to bolt onto the reinforcement plate studs, then pulled the door sheetmetal out a bit with it.

Finally got a warming spell this last weekend and got the mirrors finished installed and working. Been trying to post pics but have been having issues with it. Will try again tomorrow after work.

So Finally 2 weeks after I get them installed and working I FINALLY got the chance to get some decent pics of the mirrors from the drivers seat of the burb. I turned on my hazards and stepped on the brake so I wouldn't have to try to play "CATCH THE BLINKING LIGHT"

HaHa you caught that huh? Yeah I installedsome blue led strip lights on thr inner surface of my handles. Had them hooked up to my parking lights for a while until a state trooper said it was a no go. So now they're wired into my alarm system and flash when the alarm is set.

Should hook them up with the dome light if yours comes on when you unlock the burb
