Chrome body molding replacement 1987 Suburban

I am looking to replace the chrome body molding that runs all the way around my Suburban. I had been looking at the molding LMC truck sells that is already pre-cut for $149 as I didn't want to take a chance of damaging the molding trying to cut it to fit.

However I have found a roll of the same molding on ebay for about $45 shipped. In order to save $100 I wouldn't mind trying to cut to fit. What do I use to cut the molding so the ends aren't damaged?

I would be tempted to try metal shears to see if it'll give a clean cut. Message the seller, and see if he has a recommendation maybe? I'd be curious how well it works.

Re: Chrome body molding replacement 1987 Suburban

I used a razor knife to cut mine on an '85. It came out pretty good for my first time.

I've used a jigsaw and a sawzall with very fine metal cutting blades and gotten decent results with less of a chance of me slicing my finger with the box knife
