practiced my drawing skills dream 4x4

alrite i got bored earlier today, and ive been bouncing around this idea for my ultimate 4x4. probably not everyones taste but...its mine
its been awhile since i've done any technical drawing(HS 07'), but i used a 3/4 scale ruler, 4h pencil pen and some compasses. its got 39" tyres, 18in rims and i feel i did pretty good keeping proportions, and scale accurate.
this concept has some parts raided from my c60 ie. the 351v6 np540gl a spicer aux trans 5831/b and a np203/205 double t-case with front and rear dana 60's (equiped with 5.13's) with the new portal axle boxes. this set up yields me a crawl ratio of 535.987:1 ie .652mph @ 3200rpms and a final drive of 6.54:1 or 53.37mph @ 3200rpms. yes thats alot of shifters (4 to be exact) but thats what i love.
please enjoy the art work and feel free to comment on my drivetrain layout or what ever u want. thanks!

Nice! I would have a tablet of crumpled up paper in the trash and a broken pencil if i tryed to do that..

Curious now, i thought all chevy 4X4's of our vintage had leaf springs?

Re: practiced my drawing skills dream 4x4

thanks guys that means alot. they do have leafs, but i want one with coils, i figure i swap trailing arms on top of the axle, and the portals would give at least 9.5-10.5in lift rear and a coil front susp, kinda like some of those new dodges. then again.. none ever had a c60 351v6, np 540gl 5 speed, 3 speed aux trans, and a double transfer case

plus seeing as i want a coil rear susp, opens up the donor truck possibilities and sense i probably ain't using the stock drivetrain(unless i find a v6 one) i don't need a runner either! at least saves search time!.

Re: practiced my drawing skills dream 4x4

yes a 478 would be sweet or maybe the 632ci v8!(might be too long, my drive trains almost 5 ft as is minus motor) but the 351 is on hand and gives me a starting point that attainable. i find giving my self attainable goals make it easier in the long run to stay on track and not lose focus.
btw did i mention my cousins making headers for the 351, im getting a cam reground, some head work, and a custom intake made for a 4bbl!!!

Re: practiced my drawing skills dream 4x4

ya i wanted a 60* v8. 10 liters of godlyness. lol but could live with a bigblock v6. by the way the 478 had a bore of 5 1/8"...... masive. or scrap it alll and get the 702 2-six. its 2 351 cast as one block with 4 heads 2 intakes and 2 dizzys. one cam and one crank. 600 ft# torque with 2 single barl carbs just think waht 2 -2/4's or 2 6packs could do lol.

Re: practiced my drawing skills dream 4x4

Oh, ya know what, i have a small computer screan at work and i really didn't even try to read any of the discriptions as they were pretty small, plus i never use full screan at work... I still complement ya on the drawing skills.

Re: practiced my drawing skills dream 4x4

Hey! I had a 60 GMC that had the V6 in it, it blew me away to look under the hood and see the spark plug wires on top of the heads, it had plenty of torque for sure! Its the truck i learned how to drive in at 13-14 as it was my dads when i was in Jr High school, i got it when i was 16, wish i still had it.

Re: practiced my drawing skills dream 4x4

lol thanks guys, i think i found a spare dana 60 front axle, and a np205, so i'm almost halfway their drivetrain parts wise. i'm wondering if maybe i should just modify the current c60 frame and body i got in to a trail rig with 48 or maybe the irock 52in?, guess its back to the drawing board, though a c60 pushs the size limits.

Re: practiced my drawing skills dream 4x4

lol true shortbeds look good but i needed the long wheelbase, and i plan on having two fullsize spares, a toolbox and a bed fuel tank. plus ive always used long beds, and for my offroading i do, its good enough for me.

Re: practiced my drawing skills dream 4x4

lol my thread moved! makes sense actually 4wd thread 4wd section any ways did a rough up, of my c60 4x4, i don't have the c60 with me at moment so cant measure... how much wider is a c60 then a c20? is it just the fender flares mainly? it seems huge but then i've never parked my c20 by the c60, really should would make a great pic. i also included the pics i used as reference for my drawing thanks everyone.
