Blowing Wiper Fuse - 66 Pickup

I installed a new under dash harness to convert my warning lights to gauges using an American Autowire harness and the fuse for the wipers blows instantly as soon as I turn the swtich. The fuse never blew with the factory harness so I'm quite perplexed right now.

I have a new wiper switch, new under dash harness and a new wiper motor and never had any problems until the new harness went in.

I've checked my connections and they are all good and correct.

Does anyone have any insight to this issue?

Try disconnecting the wiper motor then try turning it on again.

AAW is good but human hands are still assembling the harnesses. Did you use their wiring diagrams to check to see if maybe a wire was inserted into the wrong cavity on one of the connectors?

I'll disconnect it and check it tonight.

I haven't used their diagrams but I have been comparing how mine is hooked up to other pictures that are out there and it's the same. The only thing I'm wondering is if the 2 prong connector is 180 off. Those terminals are both for power so I'm not sure if it would make a difference either way.

Which connector and where is it connected? What are the wire colors?

Re: Blowing Wiper Fuse - 66 Pickup

Got some garage time last night and figured it out. I had the 2 prong connector 180 off, flipped that around and all is well.

American Autowire didn't send me any useful diagrams due to them being factory diagrams and they can't release them in their entirety. He did give me a brief description of the system though that helped out quite a bit
