Couple more puzzle pieces for my build

A couple more pieces of the puzzle arrived this week. I have been looking for a good deal on a fuel tank as I had a 15 gallon Jeep wrangler tank already but I didn’t like the way it hung down. I lucked up and ran across a Holley sniper universal tank on eBay with a damaged box for 399.00. This set up sells for around 750 or so! I also ordered a set of Altman easy latches from summit and was wondering if anyone has ever welded these in? If so did you have any issues with the latches aligning up properly. I read somewhere someone advised against welding because of this, any thoughts?
