Will 73-87 AM/FM radios fit in 67-72 uncut dash openings?

Good afternoon, all.

Couple questions. Recently brought home a nicely restored '67 C10. Truck came with an aftermarket stereo unit, and had also had those kick panel speaker enclosures added. Everything works fine as is, but I'm not a fan of the local radio station selection, and I'm a Spotify guy.

Here in Buffalo, there is a fantastically nice guy named Chet at Antique Car Radio Repair who does the Aurora Designs FMR conversions. I'd like to have him do the FMR and BTU Bluetooth conversion on a good, original radio.

Now, my question is this: he recommended that I find an AM/FM unit with working buttons and knobs, that also had the frequency display that shows both AM and FM together. I've found some units on eBay that, going by their build code, came out of late 70's vehicles.

Ex: https://www.ebay.com/itm/25561915193...3ABFBM4K6jlsRg

Would these radios also fit in the dash opening of the '67 without any modifications? Are the dimensions the same, or should I look for a truck-specific radio?

Chet said he can make an AM unit work, but it's just a lot easier and cleaner of a look to go with the dual-frequency plate units.

Thanks all for any help!

No. Shaft spacing is narrower on the newer radios and on GM/Delco radios this is non-adjustable.

And the “Front face” is just a little too tall to fit in the opening.
I once bought an AM/FM radio from a 75 truck, only to find out later that it doesn’t fit.

Sure glad I asked here before spending a whole lot of money on something I couldn't use!
