Antique snowcats? Anyone know anything about them?
My buddy has this 195something Tucker snocat, he's wanting to know if it's worth anything. It is partialy disassembled, but is compleat, however the front ski's are broken.
It's got a Chrysler 235(?) flathead that starts right up. Just wondering if there is a board out there somewhere for people that know about such things.

If what I thought I knew about them is true it's been modified.I think they were track driven.Surely there's a club of folks that still drive them.

I've seen one of these in operation in Minnesota. They are track driven. the one I saw was powered by a flathead Ford.
Sno-cat is still in operation, I believe the are out of Oregon. http://www.sno-cat.com/

Yeah-track driven. This thing is very early in snowcat evolution. You can take the tracks off, and the spools-the big sproket in the back-and install the road wheels. It has big 'ol skis in the front, and the little road wheels in the front are just lower than the skis so you can cross roads and such without damaging the skis, or remove the skis compleatly and cruise around in the summer. These skis are broken, though. That's the only thing that needs replaced. I'm sure it would be a fun project for the right guy. I'm still looking for some more snowcat boards.
