*1949 Truck Driver Side Window Issue*

My window will roll down about half way and it sounds like it hits something solid and stops. Open for suggestions guys.

Re: *1949 Truck Driver Side Window Issue*

If it feels like it is on one end more than the other (front/rear of glass) and the felt channel is old it may have come loose and be wadded up. Or if someone put the channel in with screws one of the screws may have backed out. If memory serves right that happened to me way back in the mid 70's.

One more and very possible thing is too long a screw going though the door panel somewhere that the regulator or glass frame is hitting. Think 3/4 or 1 inch long screw put in where a half inch long one should have gone.

take the door panel off, after the handles. there is enough room to look around.

my guess is one of the screws that hold the window to the regulator has backed out a little and is stopping the roller. it could also be the ront or rear guide is ouut of place and stopping the window.

Agreed, first step is getting the inside panel off and looking around to see or feel what might be the issue.

Thanks for the info guys. Coming down with what my wife has so I'm feeling a little rough. I'll see if I can get out in the garage tomorrow and pull the panel off.

I'm saving that door innards photo again. It tells you a lot about the insides of 47/50 doors.

Re: *1949 Truck Driver Side Window Issue*

Ok....the sun came out so I went out into the garage even though I'm a little under the weather to see about my window issue. By rolling the window up and down and moving the glass I could get it to roll all the way down. I can get it down so I'm satisfied until spring as I won't be driving it anyway.
