305 V6 carb adjustments

Hello
What are the carb adjustments for a carburetor for a 305 GMC V6? Does it have a Stromberg carb or a Rochester? It is a two bbl, and most websites say it has some sort of stromberg carb. Can someone post the adjustments on for me? Thanks.
Jake

there are no set adjustments, you need to fine tune it

Re: 305 V6 carb adjustments

I was planning to just run it and tune it so it ran good. Have to figure out which screws are adjustments. I suppose it would help if I looked at it for more than 5 minutes at a time

If memory serves, there are two adjustment screws. The one on the driver's side for curb idle and one on the passenger side for fast idle (cold choke). You may also have a throttle solenoid that energizes if the air conditioning or defroster is in operation. I don't think that 2bbl carb had any mixture control screws.

Re: 305 V6 carb adjustments

most of us have either switched to a holly 5200 2bbl or 4 bbl carb as most originals too small and worn out

Re: 305 V6 carb adjustments

adapter for now. the 6066 GMC site has converted their manifolds over and are now in the process of custom making alum intakes and headers who says these motors won't run.Hot rod magazine had a V6 on the cover in the sixties with a tri-power set-up and headers.Someone looked into this and found the original molds were long gone for these parts.
