Parking brake

Ok so my truck has 4 wheel drums, not a big deal but will eventually switch to disc brakes. My question is did Chevrolet put cables to all 4 drum brakes for the parking brake or just the rear. I have looked underneath my truck and it looks like I have them running to all 4 but 3 of them are seized and I'm not sure if they're factory or aftermarket. Any help would be great,

Thanks,
Stephen

Re: Parking brake

Parking brake front and rear! I don't think you have that. Can you post pics? It could be; but, someone would have had to put in a pulley system that pulls cable in both directions!

Re: Parking brake

I could very well be mistaken. When I was looking up under there though I am positive I saw an x of what looked like parking brake cables going to moth front and back. Will double check when I get some free time off work. And I'll probably be a few days on pics. Gotta wait for the mud to turn back to solid ground.

For sure post some pics of what you think is bake cable and we can tell you what you are looking at.

There is a rod that runs diagonally from the rear brake cable near the passenger side of the rear of the transmission to the frame just behind the right front wheel. The rod is about the same diameter as the cable. The cable from the peddle connects to the rear cable at a similar position on the driver side. If you haven't examined it closely, that may be what you are seeing.

Re: Parking brake

Here's the best picture I have that shows what I described above. The rear cable in the picture is attached to the transmission cross member with a zip tie at the approximate location where the cable from the peddle would attach.
