To strip or not to strip......

good afternoon...

I have dove in and am working on my first project..I have a 66 swb that i am doing a resto mod on...im replacing the rockers, toe kicks etc now but have a question regarding paint prep. Truck is in good shape considering its 52 years old...its a cali, truck i had shipped to me in Illinois...I am going to paint black/high gloss, so i know how important the prep work is to have a straight truck...My question is, it looks as if the truck as been painted before, but has no peeling etc at all...do i need to strip this down to bare metal or can i just run the DA on it to rough up and shoot it with High build? or what steps do you recommend...Im planning to paint with Tamco paints and use their High build as well...Ill try to attach a pic so you can see condition of paint.

Thanks!
Chad
