Re: West TX Z build up thread

You could sell your bigger ones and go with the 2 1/8 gauges and then they would match

I would but I spent too much already buying them. I doubt I can get them sold and within price range to buy a new set. Autometer is expensive.

Well, the engine swap is in progress, replacing seals and gaskets as we speak. I should have the truck back by wednesday at the latest. Will provide vids later.

Re: West TX Z build up thread

I got some bad news yesterday. My mechanic was cleaning off the engine block and installing new gaskets and seals when he heard a metal "clank" in the oil pan. He decided to remove the oil pan and he found some extra performance goodies :sarcasm: Apparently the oil pickup broke off inside and was getting beat to hell with the crank inside the block and metal shards were getting bounced around inside. I'm glad he found the damage before he dropped the engine in. He reported that the damange isnt too bad and I would need my crank honed and polished along with new main caps. He reported that he should have me up and going in about a week....sigh, more $ to spend. I'll keep ya'll up with updates.

I'm not sure, Pball would have to answer that. I dont have a Air/Fuel gauge. I'm sure you have to be fuel injected for that.

you have to have an O2 sensor somewhere close to the beginning of your exhaust system. If you have true duals, it would require two o2 sensors.

Re: West TX Z build up thread

Pretty sure A/F gauges only use one O2 sensor mounted on one of the banks. Since it is reading ratios, it doesn't care about how much total volume there is.

That is a real bummer about the pick up. Guessing some one changed the oil pump, and reused the pick up? I used a new pump, and pick up with my 7qt pan. Wasn't taking chances... Also have a metal coupler that is tacked in place on the drive shaft. If I loose oil pressure someone is going to have a bad day...

I wonder why the caps need replaced? Did you ask?
